A walking workshop activity that uses the principles of psychogeography to Navigate urban landscapes.

I hosted my first walking workshop for the Greater Manchester Moving Conference on May 12th 2025 and tried out a playful way to explore the area around the venue in Salford Quays. 

Using a bingo card of different sensory prompts I challenged players to wander off and navigate their way to a place of inspiration and then send a postcard or other combination of image and text. A simple challenge that was made more enjoyable by the radiant sunshine. For my part I learnt a lot about delivering  a workshop in a busy location and the need for extra organisation when distributing materials and instructions. That said I did got a lot of positive feedback from the participants and some of the images shared sent in can be found below. 

This bingo card is available as an open source template and can be adapted for future events . I am available to host wandering workshops and look forward to developing this concept.
